Welcome! The Brunswick Community for All Ages (CFAA) is an intitiative started by People Plus in Brunswick in 2006 to identify and nuture opportunities for building intergenerational interaction. What are intergenerational interactions? You are probably involved in intergenerational interactions every day, which can be as simple as being on a committee with people of different ages or as complex as developing an all-age inclusive theatre program. If intergenerational interactions happen anyway, what is a Community for All Ages about?Community for All Ages is about intent. We facilitate opportunities for intergenerational interaction that already exist, as well as seek and develop new opportunities. We encourage these opportunities and enable them to flourish by finding means for long-term support. Why are intergenerational interactions important?Simply, we can all learn from each other. We believe that there is economic and social value in the civic contribution of individuals across the lifespan. For both youth and seniors, civic engagement increases the sense of community and inclusion and decreases the likelihood of isolation and segregation. Intergenerational interaction makes for a healthier, more desirable community! For More Information:Please contact Nancy Porter (nancy@peopleplusmaine.org) for more information or feel free to email any steering committee member if you have questions or would like to get more involved.
