Pejepscot Historical Society tours are designed to encourage a greater understanding of the history of Brunswick, Topsham and Harpswell, Maine. Although these tours have been developed for school groups, other community organizations have found them to be interesting and engaging. All tours can be tailored to suit the needs of your group. Contact PHS at 729-6606 for more information or to schedule a visit.
Teachers! Tours generally run ½ to 1 hour; both duration and content can be customized to suit the needs of your group. All visits and programs must be scheduled in advance; to do so please call 729-6606.
Student prices for house tours are $2.00 per student per house. Teachers and chaperones are free. The Pejepscot Museum is free. Fees are payable the day of the program or by invoice.
Joshua L. Chamberlain Museum, home of the Civil War general, governor of the State of Maine and Bowdoin College president. Guided tour introduces students to the story of an important person in Maine and U.S. history.The program will help students develope historical knowledge of major events, people and enduring themes in Maine history.
Skolfield-Whittier House Glimpse into the lives of 3 generations of a Maine family. The tour helps students to see the similarities and differences between daily life today and the past. Students will gain an understanding of the effects of historical changes on daily life.
